Michael Perik is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Student Resource Center. A seasoned and successful entrepreneur with a keen understanding of both finance and regulatory environments, Michael launched the SRC in 2015 and has expertly guided the company through the rapid growth and expansion required to meet the needs of diverse learners seeking a truly accessible education at any stage of their life and career.
Known as an ed-tech pioneer since leading The Learning Company in the 90s, Michael has a proven track record of leveraging education-focused technologies to expand access to learning opportunities. He started his career in government and politics and continues to serve as an informal advisor to public leaders at all levels. This commitment and connection to public policy issues and solutions led him to start the Student Resource Center and launch the ground-breaking national education program that is connecting post-traditional, working adults with a college degree.
In each of the companies where Michael has had a leadership role, including Houghton Mifflin, The Princeton Review, and Achievement Technologies, he found success by ensuring the mission was focused on inclusivity for all.
Before entering the software business, Michael worked for a Toronto-based merchant bank, the Ontario Hydro Corporation, and the Premier of Ontario. He is a past Treasurer of the Rhode Island Hospital and past board member of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library. Michael is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
